Recent natural disasters in Mexico have caused major tragedies in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Due to tropical storms named Priscilla and Raymond, heavy rains fell, causing floods. As a result, 72 people lost their lives.
At the same time, 48 people are missing, and search operations are ongoing. In the past week, floods and heavy rains have caused significant damage in the Mexican states of Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, Tabasco, and Oaxaca.
The greatest destruction was observed in the Veracruz and Puebla regions. Many houses were destroyed, bridges and roads were damaged, and thousands of people were left homeless.
The Mexican government has mobilized large forces to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. Rescue operations are being carried out with 21 helicopters and additional teams.
They are searching flooded areas, ruined buildings, and deep ravines. According to the Federal Electricity Commission, more than 95 percent of the electricity supply system has been restored in five states.
Engineers and utility services are working together. The government has set up temporary shelters for evacuated residents, providing food, water, and medical assistance to the victims.
According to local media reports, the storms caused a drop in atmospheric pressure, and in some areas, water levels reached two meters. This led to many roads being submerged.
Rescue and recovery efforts are currently ongoing.
