The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelenskiy, did not achieve the expected outcome from his meeting with the President of the United States, Donald Trump. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The meeting took place at the White House, and no important decisions for Ukraine were made during the discussions. Zelenskiy described the conversation as tense.
Before the meeting, the Ukrainian side had hoped to receive "Tomahawk" missiles from the US. However, a phone conversation between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin changed this plan.
Trump stated that Putin emphasized his desire for peace. Zelenskiy expressed gratitude to Trump, but Putin clearly showed that he was not ready for negotiations.
During the meeting, no new aid or additional promises were made by the US. Trump proposed stopping the war along the current lines, which Ukraine considers an act of aggression.
For this reason, Zelenskiy returned to his country without any concrete results from the meeting. This meeting did not indicate the beginning of a new phase in relations between the two countries.
