Former US President Donald Trump recently reached an agreement to ceasefire in Gaza. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He actively participated in negotiations between Israel and Arab countries and gained attention for his success in this area. At the same time, Trump is trying to focus attention on the war in Ukraine, but he has not achieved significant results in this field.
Trump had planned to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest, but this meeting was postponed indefinitely. The former president described such a meeting as "useless" and did not want to hold it.
This decision led to a halt in negotiations between the US and Russia. According to experts, Trump’s success in Gaza was due to his strong ties with Israel.
He had previously moved the US embassy to Jerusalem and consistently supported Israel. However, Trump does not have such influence on the Ukraine issue.
In recent months, he held meetings with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but Russia remains under the threat of new sanctions, and Ukraine is not ready to give up its territories. For this reason, Trump’s proposals are unacceptable to both sides.
Although Trump had previously hoped to end the war quickly, he now acknowledges the complexity of the issue. As conflicts between Ukraine and Russia continue, Trump’s influence is diminishing and the opportunities to stop the war remain limited.
