75 million-year-old dinosaur bones found in Karakalpakstan
Dinosaur bones dating back 75 million years BC were found in the Sulton Uvays mountain range in Karakalpakstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel reported on this. The discovery was made during research conducted in collaboration between scientists from Karakalpak State University named after Berdaq and specialists from the State Geological Museum of Uzbekistan.

According to Ahmadjon Ahmadshayev, director of the State Geological Museum, this dinosaur lived during the Cretaceous period, approximately 100 to 65 million years ago in the territory of Uzbekistan. Researchers found its vertebrae, ribs, and shin bones.

As Ahmadshayev emphasized, during the Cretaceous period, the territory of Uzbekistan had seas and dry lands, which created important conditions for the discovery of dinosaur footprints and bones. Such findings are significant not only scientifically but also for the development of tourism.

For this reason, it is necessary to establish museums and exhibition facilities. Currently, the species to which the discovered bone remains belong is being identified; once the research is completed, they will be handed over to the State Geological Museum.

This discovery opens new opportunities for paleontological research in the region.
