
According to an official statement from the Royal Court of Thailand, Sirikit, the mother of the queen and one of the country's most respected figures, passed away at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It was announced that she died on October 24, 2025, at a hospital in Bangkok due to a blood infection. In recent years, Sirikit, the mother of the reigning King Maha Vajiralongkorn, had rarely appeared in public as she was experiencing health issues.
In honor of her passing, a one-year mourning period has been declared in the country, and the highest-level funeral ceremony has been planned. Sirikit was a deeply respected figure in the hearts of the Thai people.
Her portraits have been displayed in homes, offices, and public places throughout the country. Her birthday, August 12, is widely celebrated as “Mother’s Day” in the nation.
Queen Sirikit dedicated her life to noble causes such as improving the lives of rural residents, preserving national traditions, and protecting the environment. She was regarded not only as a symbol of beauty and grace in her own country but throughout the entire Asian region.
Famous publications, including Vanity Fair, called her the “Asian Jackie Kennedy,” while Paris Match recognized her as “the most beautiful queen of all time.” Sirikit married King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1950 and raised a noble family consisting of three daughters and one son.
She came from an aristocratic family in Bangkok and was one of the most influential royal figures who earned the love of the people during her time.
