Kazakhstan's QazaqGaz gas transport company announced that the volume of Russian gas transit to Uzbekistan is expected to reach 6 billion cubic meters in 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In 2024, this figure is planned to be 5.6 billion cubic meters. This was reported by "Kazinform".
Gas transit from Russia to Uzbekistan began in 2023, using the "Central Asia – Center" gas pipeline for this process. According to "Intergaz Central Asia" company, maintenance work has been carried out on this pipeline, and out of more than 10,000 identified defects, 6,000 have been eliminated.
Currently, 178 million cubic meters of gas are delivered daily to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan. In the future, it is planned to increase this transit volume to 11 billion cubic meters per year.
"Intergaz Central Asia" company emphasized that it is working on infrastructure improvements in line with this growth rate. By the beginning of October 2023, Uzbekistan imported gas worth a total of 932.3 million dollars from abroad.
This figure decreased by 29.7 percent compared to the previous year. At the same time, the country increased its gas export volume to 546.2 million cubic meters, achieving an annual growth rate of 15.4 percent.
