Syrian president played basketball with US admirals
Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa began his official visit to the United States in an unusual way. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

On the first day of his visit, he was at a sports field playing basketball with Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), and his deputy Admiral Kevin Lambert. The president announced this on his social media page.

In his post, al-Sharaa wrote, “We had a little workout on the court with Admirals Cooper and Lambert.” This action sparked great interest on social media.

According to users, this could be an expression of “soft diplomacy” or a friendly gesture aimed at starting political relations in an unusual way. President Ahmad al-Sharaa arrived in Washington, USA, on November 8 for an official visit.

As part of the visit, he met with US President Donald Trump on November 10 and discussed important issues between the two countries. For reference, CENTCOM is the US command responsible for coordinating strategic military matters in the Middle East.

CENTCOM head Admiral Brad Cooper visited Damascus in September and met with Syria’s new leader for the first time.
