There has been an important development in the field of medicine in Israel. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Doctors at the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva succeeded for the first time in history in performing a complex surgery on a pregnant woman without opening the abdomen. This operation was carried out using a robotic laparoscopic method to save the life of 23-year-old Tsofiya Leibovich.
The woman was urgently admitted to the hospital at the 32nd week of pregnancy. Usually, in such cases, open surgery would be required, but the doctors decided to use modern technologies to reduce the risk of premature birth.
The operation was performed through a small incision with the help of a special robot, minimizing blood loss and risk. The procedure was successfully completed.
Tsofiya continued her pregnancy and gave birth to a healthy baby girl a few weeks later. According to specialists, the first use of such technology in the late stages of pregnancy is a major breakthrough in medicine and will enable saving the lives of thousands of women in the future.
