Visits of Uzbeks to Russia decreased, work purposes leading
In the third quarter of 2025, the number of visits by Uzbek citizens to Russia amounted to 711 thousand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to this indicator, Russia ranked second among foreign countries in terms of visits by foreign citizens. This was reported by the "Kommersant" publication.

For comparison, in the same period of 2024, visits by Uzbeks amounted to 836 thousand. Among the purposes for Uzbek citizens traveling to Russia, work was the most frequently indicated, totaling 413 thousand.

The highest number of visits to Russia were made by citizens of Kazakhstan, who visited 975 thousand times. Kazakh citizens mainly indicated "personal visit" as their purpose.

The third place was occupied by Chinese citizens, who traveled to Russia 631 thousand times. Within the nine months of 2025, 12.2 million foreign citizens entered Russia, while in 2024 this figure was 13 million.

The tightening of migration rules influenced these changes. For example, starting from January 2025, citizens of visa-free countries will only be allowed to stay in Russia for 90 days within one year.

Previously, they had the right to stay 90 days in every six months of the year. Experts emphasize that these changes limit the opportunities for foreigners to travel to Russia.

For this reason, many are forced to purchase patents for work. This situation indicates an increase in the number of migrants.
