According to US President Donald Trump, individuals holding tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be given priority in obtaining US visas. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the BBC, the new FIFA Pass system will allow fans faster access to visa interviews. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that the ticket does not automatically grant a visa, stating that applicants will be able to attend an interview within six to eight weeks after applying.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that this system aims to create convenience for football fans and simplify the visa acquisition process. At the same time, the BBC noted that there is currently no information on how the new rules will apply to countries with restricted entry to the US, including Iran, which qualified for the World Cup.
In previous championships (Russia and Qatar), the match ticket served as a substitute for a visa.
