The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia issued a statement regarding the issues related to the national driving licenses of Uzbeks within Russian territory. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information was published by the embassy on its Telegram channel. According to the statement, under current Russian legislation, citizens of Uzbekistan are allowed to drive personal vehicles in Russia using their national driving licenses.
However, if a citizen plans to work as a driver in Russia, obtaining a Russian driving license is required. The embassy also stated that it maintains constant communication with Russian authorities and will promptly inform about any changes affecting the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens.
At the same time, according to a statement made in November by Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Russia can only recognize driving licenses from countries where Russian is an official language. Citizens of other countries are required to pass driving exams in Russia.
