Former US President Donald Trump emphasized in a conversation with journalists at the White House that the future of the war in Ukraine largely depends on Kyiv's decisions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, the new "peace plan" proposed by Washington creates a unique opportunity to stop the war. In Trump's opinion, if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejects this plan, the continuation of the war is inevitable.
Trump stated that the capabilities of the parties in the negotiations are of decisive importance. He noted that in his conversation with Zelensky, he drew attention to the weakening position of Ukraine.
The former president believes that Ukraine is under economic and military pressure. Especially as the winter season approaches, the energy crisis may deepen further.
Trump also recalled the numerous attacks on Ukraine's energy system, adding that this situation may force Kyiv to make important political decisions. At the same time, international media outlets report that a new meeting between Trump and Zelensky may take place.
The main points of the "peace plan" are expected to be discussed at the meeting. According to some sources, US officials are considering applying temporary pressure to persuade Ukraine to agree, including the possibility of suspending military aid.
The decision Kyiv makes in the coming days may affect not only the course of the war but also the next phase of European security. Washington's initiative is seen as the last chance to stop the war.
