Former US President Donald Trump demonstrated his firm stance while responding to journalists' questions about the latest proposal concerning Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
When journalists asked him, "Is this the final offer for Kyiv?" Trump briefly replied, "No." He emphasized that this issue should have been resolved much earlier and stated that achieving peace is his main goal.
According to Trump, if he had been in office earlier, the current conflict would not have arisen at all. In his statements, he presented himself as a leader striving for peace by saying, "We are trying to stop this war."
In an interview with Fox Radio, Trump indicated November 27 — Thanksgiving Eve — as a convenient deadline for Ukraine to accept the proposal. He also mentioned that if the process goes positively, there is a possibility to extend the deadline.
According to Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky still has no significant options left and will be forced to accept the US proposal. Zelensky, in turn, emphasized that Ukraine faces a difficult choice.
He said the decision will be between two directions: "Accepting the 28-point proposal" or "the risk of losing national dignity." Russian President Vladimir Putin also commented on the peace plan developed by the US.
He acknowledged that some aspects of this document could serve as a basis for an agreement but noted that the plan was not discussed with Moscow. Putin explained this by saying that the US has been unable to convince Ukraine.
So far, the details of the US 28-point plan have not been fully disclosed. However, European countries are demanding a review of some points of this plan.
This indicates that peace negotiations will still continue for a long time.
