
Sergio Gore, the US Special Representative for South and Central Asia, originally born in Tashkent, has been appointed as the Chairman of the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The US Department of State announced this. In this position, Sergio Gore will work in cooperation with Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.
According to the US, this council will further strengthen relations between the two countries. Additionally, it will create a favorable cooperation environment for businessmen, increase investments, and promote collaboration in high-tech sectors.
This initiative is a logical continuation of the negotiations conducted by Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the recent C5+1 summit held in Washington. The council was established by President Mirziyoyev's decree, with Saida Mirziyoyeva entrusted with coordinating its composition and activities.
This council is considered an important step aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
