Since the beginning of 2025, Russia has officially banned the entry of more than 160 thousand foreign nationals into the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information from the Migration Service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, cited by RIA Novosti, some foreign nationals who were previously banned from entering changed their names and tried to enter the country again.
In such cases, illegal actions of 3,000 individuals were uncovered. At the same time, violations of migration rules increased by 30 percent.
This is related to strengthened control and stricter document verification procedures. Additionally, the number of migrants evading departure from Russia has increased 2.5 times.
Crimes related to organizing illegal migration have increased by 45 percent. Violations such as forgery and sale of migration documents have also risen by 22 percent.
These changes indicate that serious control over migration has been established in Russia. Throughout the year, extensive inspections were conducted in markets, construction sites, shopping centers, hotels, and dormitories, with over 200 thousand migrants checked.
According to officials, such measures are aimed at ensuring the country's security and strengthening compliance with migration laws. Compared to the same period in 2024, this year's figures are slightly lower.
For example, in October 2024, it was reported that the entry of 180 thousand foreign nationals into Russia was banned. In 2025, more than 160 thousand citizens have been denied entry so far.
It is worth noting that during raids conducted in the Moscow region, 96 migrants working in warehouses were deported. Also, since the registry of persons under control was launched in February 2025, nearly 35 thousand people have been expelled from Russia for violating immigration laws.
Experts evaluate these strict measures as comprehensive actions aimed at regulating migration flows, enhancing security, and curbing illegal activities.
