Three Chinese citizens were killed and another injured as a result of an armed attack at the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information from the Chinese embassy in Tajikistan, Reuters news agency reported the incident. The tragedy occurred on November 26 near the southwestern Khatlon province of Afghanistan.
According to the Tajikistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all the deceased were employees of the "Shahin SM" company operating in the border area. The attack is said to have been carried out from Afghan territory using grenade drones.
The perpetrators behind the attack are currently unknown. The Chinese government called on Dushanbe to promptly investigate the incident and advised its citizens to immediately relocate to safe areas.
The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs assessed the incident as the work of unknown groups seeking to escalate instability in the region. They expressed their readiness for full cooperation with the Tajik government.
This incident once again highlights the declining security level at the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border and the fact that international citizens are also becoming victims in this process.
