Negotiations between Ukraine, the USA, and Europe concluded in Miami
The Ukrainian delegation has concluded negotiations held in Miami with representatives from the USA and the European Union. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by Rustam Umerov, head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council. Separate meetings between the USA and Russia in this region are now expected to take place.
According to reports, the negotiations took place on December 19. Rustam Umerov, who led the Ukrainian delegation, did not disclose details of the meeting but emphasized that representatives of the European Union also participated in the talks.
He stated that the results of the negotiations were reported to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. — We have concluded the meeting with representatives of the USA and the European Union.
We have reached agreements on future steps and cooperation issues, — Umerov wrote. It is reported that these negotiations were organized based on issues discussed during a meeting between the Ukrainian and US delegations in Geneva on November 23.
The dialogue is being conducted based on the concept called the "Trump plan for Ukraine." The arrival of the Russian delegation in Miami is expected on December 20–21.
The delegation will be led by Kirill Dmitriev, the special representative of the Russian president. He is scheduled to hold meetings with Steve Whitkoff, the US president's special representative, and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law.
According to reports, the USA plans to offer security guarantees to Ukraine after the war with Russia ends. However, reaching an agreement on the existing demands regarding the Donetsk and Luhansk regions remains complicated.
This issue was also discussed in previous meetings in Berlin. In response to these demands, the Kremlin maintains a firm position and does not rule out the possibility of using force.
Ukraine, meanwhile, asserts its determination to preserve its territorial integrity. President Zelenskyy emphasized that he does not intend to recognize the Donbass regions as Russian, neither de facto nor de jure.
The USA is trying to reach a compromise on this matter. These negotiations in Miami indicate potential new developments in the international political arena.
