Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy plans to meet with former US President Donald Trump to hold negotiations on territorial issues. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These issues are of significant importance within the framework of a future peace agreement. This statement was announced following the latest US-Ukraine negotiations.
According to Zelenskiy, currently the Ukrainian and US delegations are on the verge of finalizing a 20-point plan prepared to end the war and reach a political agreement. This plan requires territorial issues to be discussed at the leadership level.
According to the plan, the Ukrainian army will remain at its current strength of 800,000, and its security will be guaranteed through additional documents signed with the US and European countries. Additionally, work is underway on post-war reconstruction and investment matters.
Nevertheless, the parties have not yet reached an agreement on territorial issues. Zelenskiy emphasizes that Ukraine's territories should remain within their current borders.
However, Russia demands the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the eastern Donetsk region. The future of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant also remains unresolved.
