Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced that he plans to meet with former US President Donald Trump in the near future. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, the main issues regarding ending the ongoing war with Russia could be resolved before the New Year. Zelenskiy emphasized that such sensitive matters, especially possible agreements concerning territory, should only be discussed at the level of heads of state.
For this reason, the Ukrainian side places great importance on a face-to-face meeting with the US president. On Thursday, the Ukrainian leader announced that he held talks with the US president’s special envoy Steve Whitkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
During the meeting, documents related to ending the war and rebuilding Ukraine were discussed. According to Zelenskiy, some of these documents are nearly ready, while others are fully developed.
Earlier, the Ukrainian president presented a 20-point plan aimed at achieving peace. This plan includes providing security guarantees to Ukraine.
However, there is still no compromise regarding the territorial issue. Additionally, the matter of control over the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant remains under discussion.
