Heavy snowfall in the USA has caused serious problems in air transportation. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On December 26, more than 1600 flights were canceled across the country due to adverse weather conditions. This information was provided by the FlightAware portal, which monitors aviation traffic.
The main problems were observed in New York City and the major airports around it. Specifically, John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia, and Newark airports were the most affected areas.
Snow accumulation in these locations was expected to reach up to 23 centimeters, which hindered the safe takeoff and landing of airplanes. In addition to flight cancellations, over 19,000 flights were delayed indefinitely.
Passengers are also facing significant difficulties at Boston, Detroit, and Philadelphia airports. Airlines are currently reviewing flight schedules.
Passengers are advised to obtain accurate information about flight status before heading to the airport.
