Thailand and Cambodia reached a peace agreement
Thailand and Cambodia have succeeded in stopping armed clashes at the border through a second peace agreement. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The peace agreement, which came into effect today, has remained in force even two hours after its implementation. So far, there have been no reports of new shootings or other armed conflicts.

The agreement was signed by the defense ministers of Thailand and Cambodia. During the 20 days of fighting, at least 101 people were killed, and more than half a million were evacuated.

The clashes were mainly carried out using drones, rockets, and artillery. According to the peace agreement, an ASEAN observer group will monitor its implementation.

Additionally, direct communication will be established between ministers and military commanders at both the military and political levels. The agreement obliges both sides not to use force against civilians and peaceful residents.

However, the peace does not affect the ongoing work on defining border lines. Thailand promised to release 18 Cambodian soldiers detained in July if the peace holds for 72 hours.

In the future, the two countries will continue to use existing mechanisms to ensure peace and security.
