British swimmer Rob Hoy encountered an astonishing event while swimming with his daughter off the coast of New Zealand's North Island. What started as a simple swim quickly turned into an exciting rescue incident.

Suddenly, a pod of dolphins appeared, surrounding the father and daughter in a circular formation and began driving them toward the center. Rob tried several times to break out of this circle, but the dolphins pushed him back inside.

They seemed to be protecting them from an invisible danger. Soon, the true cause of the threat became clear: a giant great white shark was approaching the area.

The dolphins' behavior changed sharply as they began working together to scare off and drive away the shark. By slapping the water with their tails, they fiercely fought against the shark.
