The next round of negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took place at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The meeting was closed, held one-on-one, and lasted more than 2.5 hours. This was reported by upl.uz.
It is noted that this was the fourth face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since the beginning of 2025. This indicates an intensification of diplomatic relations between Washington and Kyiv.
Nevertheless, no significant agreements were announced at the end of the meeting. At the press conference, Donald Trump expressed cautious views regarding the timeline for signing a peace agreement.
According to him, the process depends on how the current situation develops. The outcome could be reached within a few weeks, or conversely, it could be prolonged for a long time or fail altogether.
Trump emphasized the war in Ukraine as one of the largest and bloodiest conflicts since World War II. Volodymyr Zelensky provided more precise figures regarding the peace plan.
According to him, the parties have agreed on 90 percent of a 20-point plan. Zelensky noted that the security guarantees between the US and Ukraine have been fully confirmed, and the broader international security system is also nearly finalized.
Donald Trump stated that the primary responsibility for ensuring Kyiv's long-term security should lie with European countries. At the same time, he added that the US is ready to provide necessary assistance to its allies in Europe.
At the end of the negotiations, the parties did not sign any final documents and postponed key issues to future meetings. It is noted that the Mar-a-Lago estate, where the meeting was held, was historically donated to the state in the 1970s by owner Marjorie Post as a "Winter White House" for presidents.
However, due to high maintenance costs, the government declined to accept the property. Later, it was purchased by Donald Trump.
