US Senators Mike Lee and Marco Rubio commented on the operation, emphasizing that its main objective was to arrest Maduro. According to them, military actions were solely aimed at ensuring the safety of the personnel involved in the operation, and there are no plans to expand or continue these actions.
The New York Times, citing Venezuelan officials, reported that there are casualties and injured as a result of the US strikes. The number of victims has not yet been determined.
The US administration stresses the necessity for Maduro to be held accountable in court. The Deputy Secretary of State noted that he must be legally responsible for his crimes.
