Witnesses emphasized that in some areas near a large military base in the southern part of the city, the electricity supply was cut off. Venezuelan officials have not yet issued an official statement regarding these events.
Following this situation, former US President Donald Trump's previous statements are being discussed again. In his speeches, Trump had several times not ruled out the possibility of military operations aimed at forcing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to leave office.
US officials have explained their positions by stating that regional policy involves expanding sanctions, increasing military involvement, and intensifying measures within the framework of combating drug trafficking. Additionally, strikes against vessels suspected of illegal activities in the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea are also planned.
