Boat accident in Nigeria: 25 people died

A boat accident occurred in Yobe State in northeastern Nigeria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of the incident, at least 25 people died and 14 are missing. The boat capsized while traveling from the village of Adiya to the city of Garbi.
There were a total of 52 passengers on board. So far, 13 passengers have been rescued alive, and the bodies of 25 people have been found.
Search operations for the missing continue. Emergency services and local volunteers are conducting search efforts at the scene.
The Jigawa State police stated that the boat capsized due to water leakage. They also emphasized that rules against traveling at night and overloading were violated.
According to a police spokesperson, if the driver survives, he may be held accountable for negligence. Local residents reported that the boat passengers were traveling to their own village and to Yobe city.
The boat's delay in reaching its designated destination caused concern among the passengers' families. Boat accidents are common in Nigeria, often due to non-compliance with safety regulations.
