The US is trying to increase its influence in Greenland

The US may attempt to strengthen its influence over Greenland. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the "Politico" publication, Washington may take active steps in the coming months to establish control over Greenland. This process could be linked to the 250th anniversary of US independence or the midterm Congressional elections scheduled for November.
According to Mujtaba Rahmon, head of the Europe division at the Eurasia Group analytical center, the US may not resort to drastic measures in this regard. He suggested that Washington might initiate various campaigns to increase political influence.
Rahmon emphasized that methods such as winning over local politicians or providing financial assistance could be employed. As a result, the likelihood of expanding US military and civilian involvement in Greenland is high.
Previously, Donald Trump had expressed intentions several times to annex Greenland to the US. He described this territory as strategically important for US defense.
In an interview with "The Atlantic," Trump mentioned the presence of Russian and Chinese ships in Greenland. Additionally, the "Reuters" agency noted that US political actions in Venezuela have caused concern among European leaders.
They believe Greenland could face a similar pressure scenario.
