The US is again discussing the purchase of Greenland

The US is discussing the matter of purchasing Greenland. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to The Wall Street Journal, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a closed briefing for members of Congress on this issue. This information was provided by kursiv.uz.
This news coincides with the period when Donald Trump's proposals to incorporate Greenland into the US are being discussed again. According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the president and his team are considering various ways to achieve this goal.
Even the possibility of using armed forces is not excluded if necessary. During his presidency, Donald Trump had proposed buying Greenland several times.
Now, he is firmly insisting that this territory should be added to the US. Senator Lindsey Graham, close to Trump, says that this issue will mainly be resolved through negotiations.
At the same time, conducted surveys show that the majority of Greenland's population opposes the idea of joining the US. Some NATO member countries are warning that if the US tries to use force in this matter, it could damage the long-standing alliance between Europe and the US.
Looking at history, the US previously purchased various territories from France, Russia, and Denmark. In particular, Denmark sold the Virgin Islands to the US in 1917 for 25 million dollars.
