Great Britain will create a new missile system for Ukraine

Great Britain has launched a project to develop a new tactical ballistic missile to equip the Ukrainian army with modern weapons. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The project is named “Nightfall” and will enable the Ukrainian armed forces to strike strategic targets within Russian territory. The new missile is expected to have a range of technical capabilities.
Its strike range will exceed 500 kilometers, covering the distance from the Ukrainian border to Moscow. The warhead will have a high explosive power of 200 kilograms.
The missile is designed to accurately reach its target even under electronic warfare conditions and when GPS signals are jammed. Additionally, the system operates on a “shoot and scoot” principle, meaning the launcher can be relocated shortly after firing.
A competition has been announced among three contractor companies for the project. Each company must present initial prototypes within 12 months.
Contracts are planned to be signed in March 2026. The price of one missile is approximately 800,000 pounds sterling, or about 1 million dollars.
It is planned to produce at least 10 such systems per month in the future. Ukraine is currently using the US ATACMS and British Storm Shadow missiles, but there are certain restrictions on these weapons.
The “Nightfall” project will allow Ukraine to have weapons less dependent on foreign export controls. At the same time, Ukraine has also started mass production of its “Flamingo” (FP-5) missiles, which have a range of up to 3,000 kilometers.
The question of how the appearance of the new missiles might change the situation on the front remains open for now. Experts have varying opinions on this matter.
