Religious app "Imom AI" to be created in Kazakhstan

A new project on the use of artificial intelligence in the religious and educational field is being discussed in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan announced plans to develop a mobile application called “Imam AI” that will answer religious questions. This was reported by the Orda.kz publication.
Kazakhstan’s Grand Mufti Nauryzbay hoji Taganuli emphasized that this project is expected to be launched in 2026. According to the information, the “Imam AI” app will provide users with quick and accurate answers based on reliable religious sources.
This project stems from the necessity to introduce digital technologies in the religious sphere in the modern world. It can facilitate convenient and trustworthy access to religious information for citizens, while also reducing the daily workload of imams and clergy.
Additionally, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared 2026 as the year of digitalization and development of artificial intelligence infrastructure in his New Year address. According to the President, advanced technologies serve to enhance the potential of various sectors in the country.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan also expressed its stance on the use of artificial intelligence in religious matters.
