Hasakah SDK raids: Allegations of violence against civilians

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are accused of using violence against civilians in Hasaka province, located in northeastern Syria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This incident occurred shortly after a ceasefire was declared between Kurdish forces and the transitional government in Damascus, further complicating the situation. According to local sources and reports circulating on social media, on the nights of January 18–19, SDF units conducted large-scale raids in Hasaka city, primarily targeting neighborhoods inhabited by Arabs and rural areas.
The situation was particularly severe in the Gweiran neighborhood in the southern outskirts of the city. Witnesses stated that the electricity supply in the city was cut off before the operations began.
Following this, homes were searched, and there were instances of gunfire directed at civilians. Some reports suggest these actions were carried out to intimidate and punish.
These events are expected to further escalate unrest in the region.
