The US plans to end the war by June

The US administration aims to end the war by early summer 2024, that is, by June. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Washington has proposed a clear plan of action in this regard. This plan also includes the initiative of an “energy ceasefire,” which involves refraining from striking energy facilities.
Ukraine has supported this proposal, but the Russian side has not yet given a clear response. Within the framework of the negotiations, the possibility of the next meeting taking place in Miami is being discussed.
According to Zelensky, the US has, for the first time, offered to host the Ukrainian and Russian negotiation teams on its territory. The meeting is planned to take place in about a week, and Ukraine’s participation has been confirmed.
However, the Russian side has not yet expressed a clear position on this matter. The most complex issues in the negotiations remain unresolved.
In particular, disputes over the Donetsk region continue. While Russia demands full control over this territory, Ukraine considers maintaining current positions as the most optimal option to stop the fighting.
Additionally, the US has proposed establishing a free economic zone in Donbass as a compromise. However, neither Russia nor Ukraine supports this proposal.
Another important issue is the future of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The parties have not yet reached an agreement on this matter either.
At the same time, the US administration plans to increase pressure to conclude the negotiations by June. Former President Donald Trump also emphasized this deadline, stressing the need to achieve results.
In conclusion, there are plans and proposals for negotiations, but the main question remains Russia’s response. The phrase “we will say later” in diplomatic processes can sometimes mean delaying time or serve as a strategic obstacle.
