Gas explosion in Karachi: 16 people died

A gas explosion occurred in a three-story residential building in the major Pakistani city of Karachi, causing a severe tragedy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

It is reported that the explosion took place on the first floor of the building around 04:15 in the morning on February 19. The injured and the deceased were taken to the city civil hospital.
According to police officials, the explosion was caused by a malfunction in the building's gas system. Preliminary information indicates that among the deceased were women and children.
Another 14 citizens sustained injuries of varying degrees, some of whom are in serious condition. Security services are investigating all issues in the gas system to determine the causes of the explosion.
The explosion also caused damage to nearby buildings and vehicles. Sindh province Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed deep condolences regarding the incident and ordered a comprehensive investigation to examine the factors that led to the tragedy.
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari extended condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized the need to strengthen safety controls to prevent such incidents in the future.
