A minibus sank in Lake Baikal, 7 tourists died

Information was provided about the probable causes of the tragedy involving Chinese tourists in Lake Baikal. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred due to a dangerous maneuver by the driver of a minibus of the Buhanka model. The driver attempted to quickly pass through the ice layers but misjudged the situation.
As a result, the vehicle hit a crack in the ice, slipped, and sank. There were nine tourists from China inside the vehicle.
Only two of them managed to escape, while the remaining seven died. It has been revealed that instead of letting the passengers off, the driver continued moving, which caused the tragedy.
The incident is highlighted as one of the frequent problems occurring in Lake Baikal. It has been noted that the number of vehicles falling through the ice on the lake has increased in recent days.
In previous cases, at least two vehicles have also sunk. Nevertheless, drivers continue to move on the ice without considering the danger.
It is said that safety measures need to be strengthened to prevent such incidents.
