The Clintons denied allegations in the Epstein case
Another controversial topic has come to the agenda in US politics. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

On February 26–27, the US House of Representatives Oversight Committee held a closed-door inquiry in the city of Chappaqua, New York. Former US President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave statements regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Although this process was closed, the Clintons expressed their positions through separate statements. In his speech, Bill Clinton emphasized that his connection with Epstein was brief and that their communication ended before Epstein's illegal activities were revealed.

He noted that at that time he had no information about Epstein's illegal activities. According to the former president, photos or acquaintances do not prove a person's involvement in illegal activities.

He also stated that if he had known about Epstein's illegal activities, he would have cut off all contacts and reported to law enforcement agencies. Hillary Clinton also expressed her opinion on this matter.

She said she had no information about the crimes of Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. The former Secretary of State emphasized that she never met Epstein, never flew on his plane, and never visited his private island.

Through this, she tried to distance herself from suspicions surrounding this controversy. Additionally, Hillary Clinton described this process as a "political stage" being used for political purposes.

She said some politicians are using this topic to divert attention from other influential figures. She stressed that it is wrong to link issues such as human trafficking and violence against women and girls to a single person.

Furthermore, Hillary Clinton criticized that certain directions of the investigation, including possible matters related to former President Donald Trump, are not being sufficiently examined. Democrats also emphasized that the investigation is being conducted one-sidedly.

This closed-door meeting showed that the Epstein case remains one of the most controversial topics in US politics. Although the Clintons denied the allegations against them, it is clear that debates on this issue will continue.

Because this is not only about the past but also about political influence and public trust.
