Russia and Ukraine exchanged 300 prisoners
Another prisoner exchange took place between Russia and Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Both sides agreed to exchange 300 prisoners and returned their military personnel to their homelands. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the Russian Ministry of Defense also confirmed the process.

According to Zelenskyy, among those released are 300 military servicemen and two civilians. Most of these individuals had been held captive for a long time, with some detained since 2022.

Irina Krinina, coordinator of the “Nash Vikhod” movement, emphasized that part of the returned military personnel were captured in 2024, while the rest were taken prisoner in 2025. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that this process was carried out with the mediation of the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

The military personnel who have now returned to Russia are located in Belarus. This is not the only exchange between the two countries.

One day earlier, on March 5, the parties also exchanged prisoners under the "200 for 200" formula. The previous such exchange took place in February 2026, when 157 military personnel were returned to their homeland.
