The United States wants to deploy European peacekeeping forces to resolve the conflict in Ukraine
The United States is discussing the deployment of European peacekeeping forces on the western bank of the Dnipro River to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and stabilize the situation. This was reported by Kit Kellog, the U.S. special representative for Ukraine, in an interview with Fox News on May 13.

According to Kellog, military personnel from leading European countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Poland are planned to be involved in the peacekeeping mission.

"We are talking about resilience forces here. Generally, this is called E3, but since Poland is also participating along with the UK, France, and Germany, these forces can actually be considered E4. They will control the western part of the Dnipro River, which will ensure that military operations go beyond the communication zone," Kellog said in his interview.

The U.S. special representative emphasized the need for a complete peace agreement between the parties to the conflict first, and after this stage, the parties should discuss other important issues – the status of specific regions, the safety of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the return of Ukrainian children to their homeland, and Ukraine's NATO membership.

On the same day, the Reuters news agency reported, citing three reliable sources, that U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Kit Kellog and another special representative, Steve Witkoff, would be sent as observers to the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine taking place in Istanbul on May 15. CNN clarified this information, emphasizing that the two special representatives would mainly play an observer role.

Experts point out that the involvement of European peacekeeping forces in the situation in Ukraine could be an important step in restoring trust between the parties to the conflict and ensuring peace in the region.
