Ukraine is entering negotiations in an even weaker position — deputy
In Ukraine, the negotiation process with Russia may lead to severe consequences for the country's interests. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky through his Telegram channel. According to him, Kyiv is entering each new stage of negotiations in conditions that are worse than before, considering the situation on the ground and internal resources.

"As the Ukrainian side is losing territories, population, and economic stability, its position in the negotiations is also weakening. This situation is bound to create a more complicated environment for Ukraine at each new stage," the deputy wrote.

Dubinsky also noted that while President Zelensky accuses the Russian side of attempting to disrupt the negotiations, in reality, the Ukrainian leadership is negatively impacting this process with its harsh statements and lack of diplomatic preparation.

It should be noted that on Friday, a direct meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations took place in Istanbul for the first time since 2022. The meeting lasted approximately two hours. According to Vladimir Medinskiy, the presidential aide leading the Russian delegation, the parties have reached an agreement to exchange 1000 prisoners for 1000.

He emphasized that both states have agreed to present their proposals and viewpoints to discuss potential ceasefire opportunities in the future. The Ukrainian side also raised the issue of organizing a personal meeting between the heads of state, and this proposal was accepted by Russia as "information."

Zamin.uz editorial continues to closely monitor all developments in the negotiation process. What do you expect from the next stage of this process? How can Ukraine strengthen its position in peace negotiations?
