The Kaaba's kiswa was renewed on the eve of the new Hijri year

The Hijri year 1448 began with the replacement of the sacred covering of the Kaaba on the night of 1 Muharram, which corresponds to June 16, 2026. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This process is carried out annually in a traditional manner and holds great spiritual and moral significance for Muslims. This special cloth, known as the Kiswa of the Kaaba, touches the hearts of millions of people around the world.
The Kiswa is made from specially prepared natural silk. It is embroidered with verses from the Quran in gold and silver thread using an exquisite technique.
This sacred cloth is prepared with the highest skill and great care, then draped over the Kaaba. Each stitch follows a precise design, and the process takes several months to complete.
Officials pay close attention to every detail. The changing of the Kiswa is not merely a routine procedure.
It is regarded as a significant event with symbolic importance for the entire Muslim world. Through these moments, the boundless respect and love of believing Muslims for the Kaaba were once again demonstrated.
Participants in the ceremony felt a deep emotional connection to this occasion. Each year, the old Kiswa is carefully removed and replaced with a new, magnificent one.
The old Kiswa is later preserved in a special manner or gifted to various Muslim organizations. This tradition has been maintained for centuries and passed down as a heritage from one generation to the next.
This process is valued not only as a religious tradition but also as one of the important symbols expressing the unity and solidarity of the Islamic world. The Kaaba serves as the single qibla for all Muslims, and every observance associated with it unites the entire world.
Through this event, love and solidarity among people are strengthened.
