Russian aviation service placed on heightened threat watch

Amidst statements regarding the closure of Ukraine's airspace and the disruption of civil aviation traffic, threats to Rossiya Aviation Services have been elevated to a heightened alert status. One.uz reports.

Transport Minister Nikitin stated that all risks communicated by Kyiv are being taken into account, and that the safety requirements for airports and flights are being systematically improved. In an official statement, he emphasized the regular updating of security measures, noting, “We have a specific response for every threat.”

Subheading The Ministry of Transport is working in close cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Defense and Rosgvardia. A special coordination mechanism with military structures has been established to ensure the stable operation of the transport system.

Interagency communication, traffic stability, and airspace control measures have been integrated to prevent serious disruptions or prolonged suspensions in civil aviation operations. The integration of air defense and radio-electronic warfare systems around airports is being strengthened.

Subheading Recently, due to drone attacks, temporary “Kevlar” modes have been introduced at major Russian airports, leading to frequent flight delays. Kyiv’s rhetoric about completely halting Russian air traffic has turned transport safety into one of the most critical points of contention between the two states.

Currently, constant monitoring is being conducted to ensure that the enhanced security measures are sufficient to fully protect civil aviation. While there is a potential for a serious crisis in the flight system, enhanced security measures have so far served as a deterrent.
