Initially, their connection was friendly, sincere, and familial. This was stated by a senior official from the US presidential administration, Susan Wiles, on the New York Post podcast.
She mentioned that Elon Musk regarded Donald Trump almost as a father figure. Wiles recalls: “The president welcomed him very warmly, and Elon would propose many new ideas and opportunities.
He had deep knowledge in the fields of people and technology, while we knew very little.” At Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, Elon Musk even stayed as a guest.
His relationship was also very close with Trump's family members. They referred to Musk as “Uncle Elon.”
This was a sign of their close and trusting relationship. However, over time, their connection cooled.
Wiles did not provide a clear understanding of why this happened. She said: “I don’t understand this.
The president considered Musk useful and trustworthy until the end. Therefore, their separation was unexpected for us.”
