The war front in Ukraine has heated up again. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On the night of July 12, Russian troops carried out a large drone strike on the city of Lviv in Western Ukraine. According to local officials, the head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maksim Kozitskiy, reported that dozens of Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles attacked the city center.
As a result of the attack, the roof of one of the residential buildings in the city center caught fire and significant damage occurred. Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadoviy announced via Telegram that rescue operations were underway at the scene and that information about the affected individuals was being updated.
Warnings were issued for other regions of Western Ukraine – Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Rovno regions – due to the threat of airstrikes, but no serious damage was reported there. Russian troops used long-range drones and aviation assets to strike this time.
According to a statement from the Polish army's operational command, the strikes were carried out by Russia's long-range aviation. For this reason, the air forces of Poland and allied countries increased their alert measures in their territories.
Polish military forces raised fighter jets into the air and put ground air defense and radar systems on high alert. Experts emphasize that the attack in Lviv poses serious concerns for Western countries.
These events require a reassessment of security systems and military strategies in the region. The war in Ukraine calls for constant vigilance and preparedness from all sides.
This night was a new test for Lviv and its residents. For Western Ukraine and neighboring countries, it was seen as a signal to take new security measures.
Over time, it will become clear what solutions the complex situation in the region will lead to and how the confrontation between Ukraine and Russia will enter a new phase.
