Political processes are intensifying in Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Verkhovna Rada approved the candidacy of 39-year-old Yuliya Sviridenko as the country's Prime Minister on July 17. This was reported by official sources.
Just a day earlier, it was announced that the government led by Denis Shmyhal had resigned. Newly appointed Prime Minister Yuliya Sviridenko presented the composition of the new government to the parliament, and 253 deputies supported her.
Based on the adopted decision, a number of ministries and their heads were also officially approved. The following individuals were appointed to key positions in the new government: Mykhailo Fedorov as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Oleksiy Kuleba as Deputy for Reconstruction and Regional Development, Taras Kachka as Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Matviy Bedniy as Minister of Youth and Sports, German Galushchenko as Minister of Justice, and Svetlana Grinchuk as Minister of Energy.
Additionally, Natalya Kalmikova was appointed Minister for Veterans Affairs, Igor Klimenko as Minister of Internal Affairs, Oksen Lisoviy as Minister of Education and Science, Viktor Lyashko as Minister of Health, Sergey Marchenko as Minister of Finance, Oleksiy Sobolev as Minister of Economy and Environment, and Denis Ulyutin as Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity. The composition of the Ministry of Defense has been expanded, incorporating the functions of the Ministry of Strategic Industry.
This direction is led by the head of "Ukroboronprom," German Smetanin. President Vladimir Zelensky assigned the new government the task of achieving 50 percent of the arms produced independently and local arms in the battlefield.
Currently, the share of local arms is 40 percent, but the head of state expects results sooner. According to Article 114 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the heads of ministries, except for the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs, are approved by the Verkhovna Rada based on the Prime Minister's recommendation.
The Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs are approved by a separate vote based on the President's recommendation. Andrey Sibiga has retained his position as Minister of Foreign Affairs, while Denis Shmyhal is being proposed for the position of Minister of Defense.
The new government and its priority areas indicate the beginning of a new era in Ukraine's political life. Time will show what results these changes will bring in the future.
