Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff: 2025 will be the year of war focused on Gaza and Iran
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has undergone changes in its leadership. On March 5, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir officially took office as the Chief of Staff of the Israel Army. He emphasized that 2025 will be a year of war for Israel focused on the Gaza Strip and Iran. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.

Zamir: “Victory is the most important value”

Eyal Zamir expressed his thoughts on the future plans of the Israel Army in his speech. He stated that the Israel Army should not only rely on a strategy of restraint but must operate with the clear goal of achieving victory.

“In recent years, the Israel Defense Forces have focused only on relative victories or restraining attacks. However, we need to change this tactic. The concept of 'victory' must be a strategic value for us,” Zamir said.

Zamir noted that the Israel Army will pay special attention to military operations directed at Gaza and Iran in the coming year. He plans to include tasks such as forming a new tank division, strengthening infantry forces, and reworking military strategy in these plans.

New Lieutenant General's Goals

As Eyal Zamir takes on one of the highest positions in the army, he promised to further strengthen the Israel Defense Forces and achieve new military successes.

He also emphasized that all possibilities will be utilized to free civilians taken hostage by HAMAS in the Gaza Strip.

“To the families of those held hostage, I assure you: I will do everything in my power to rescue them,” Zamir said.

He stated that the Israel Defense Forces must reshape itself in accordance with a new era and change its strategy for combating adversaries.

The Conflict Between Israel and Iran is Escalating

Statements from the leadership of the Israel Army directed at Iran could further escalate tensions between Tel Aviv and Tehran. In recent months, there has been an exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran.

In particular, Israel has conducted air strikes on military targets belonging to Iran, while Iran has announced that it will support its regional allies in response.

For this reason, 2025 could indeed be a year of military operations for Israel focused on Gaza and Iran.

Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir has been appointed as the head of the Israel Defense Forces and stated that 2025 could be a decisive year in the fight against Gaza and Iran. He has set the reconstruction of the Israel Army, the development of a new military strategy, and ensuring the country's security as his main goals.

Amid the Israel-Iran tensions, these statements could further strain the regional political situation.
