FIFA 2026 World Cup will start with a new format

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be organized in cooperation with the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
All 48 participating national teams have been officially confirmed for this tournament. After the European qualifying rounds concluded, the groups and opponents were determined.
This World Cup will move away from the traditional 32-team format and will be held for the first time in an expanded format including 48 teams. The teams were divided into twelve groups from A to L.
Each group consists of four teams competing against each other to advance to the playoff stage. The host countries secured places in their groups.
Mexico will compete in Group A against South Africa, South Korea, and the Czech Republic. Canada will play in Group B with Switzerland, Qatar, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The United States will take the field in Group D against Paraguay, Australia, and Turkey. In Group C, Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland will compete against each other.
Strong European teams and other contenders were distributed into the middle groups. Germany will compete in Group E with Curaçao, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador.
Group F includes the Netherlands, Japan, Tunisia, and Sweden. Belgium will test their strength in Group G against Egypt, Iran, and New Zealand.
Group H consists of Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay. The last four groups feature the current champions and new stars.
France will play in Group I against Senegal, Norway, and Iraq. Argentina will compete in Group J with Algeria, Austria, and Jordan.
Uzbekistan will compete in Group K against Portugal, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Group L consists of England, Croatia, Ghana, and Panama.
The groups for the 2026 World Cup are as follows: Group A: Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Czech Republic. Group B: Canada, Switzerland, Qatar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
