The mayor of Namangan city, Anvar Otakhojayev, emphasized that illegally installed radars are harming citizens and demanded their removal, as reported by Podrobno.uz. He sent an official request to the head of the regional Road Traffic Safety Department, Mansur Goziev, on April 12 regarding this matter.
In the mayor's request, it is stated that radars installed in violation of standards are causing not only material damage but also increasing discontent. This has led to distrust in the policies being implemented in the country and has resulted in sharp criticism on social media.
Otaxojayev noted that there have been numerous complaints from the public regarding fines being issued through radars that were installed in violation of regulations. In particular, the installation of cameras on building roofs or lighting poles has caused significant protests.
The mayor requested the removal of these cameras from the system, the cancellation of fines for violations detected through them, and the implementation of these measures in Namangan city, Davlatabad, and Yangi Namangan districts.
