US KC 135 aircraft shot down in Iraq accidents occurred

In the western part of Iraq, a US KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft was shot down. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of this incident, six crew members on board were killed. According to the latest information, the plane was targeted and downed by a missile fired by Shia militants operating in the area.
During the same event, a second KC-135 aircraft was also damaged, but it successfully made an emergency landing in Israel. The Pentagon officially denied rumors that the downed plane was destroyed by US forces.
This incident marks the fourth American aircraft lost since the start of the "Epic Fury" operation. The KC-135 aircraft plays an important role in US military air operations.
It is considered the primary means for aerial refueling. Valued at approximately 25 million dollars, this large aircraft uses a 14-meter telescopic boom to supply fuel to B-52 bombers as well as F-15 and F-35 fighter jets.
During a single flight, one KC-135 aircraft can supply up to 90 tons of fuel, making it a very important asset for long-term combat missions. For this reason, the loss of the KC-135 aircraft was a significant blow to the US military air forces.
These aircraft are crucial in supporting air forces on the battlefield. By providing aerial fuel supply, they enable other aircraft to fly long distances and successfully complete missions.
Currently, an investigation into the incident is ongoing, and US military personnel are closely monitoring the situation. This event indicates an escalation of military activities in the region.
Additionally, there are emerging opinions that the role of KC-135 aircraft in combat missions and their protection should be further strengthened.
