From June 1, automatic fines for crossing road lines will be canceled – Presidential initiative
A significant update is being implemented for drivers on the roads of Uzbekistan. According to a government decision adopted on the instruction of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, starting from June 1, 2024, crossing continuous road lines that separate traffic lanes will not result in fines through automated photo and video monitoring devices.

This was announced to the public by the press secretary of the head of state, Sherzod Asadov.

What is the decision about?

The main goal of the decision is to create a more convenient, understandable, and fair system for drivers. The President has proposed a practical solution, taking into account the suggestions and complaints of the population.

“A driver who crosses a continuous line on the road will no longer be recorded by automatic radar or camera. Such cases will only be documented through the personal observation of a traffic police officer,” the official information states.

However, there is one exception — the stop line (5.33 sign). If a driver crosses this line, the camera may record it, and a fine will be issued.

What will change?
After June 1:
  • Automated inspection cameras will not automatically record cases of crossing continuous lines that separate traffic directions;
  • No automatic fines will be issued for such violations;
  • However, if this situation is identified by traffic police officers, a fine may be issued.

Why is this important?

The automatic fines resulting from accidentally or necessarily crossing continuous lines had been causing widespread dissatisfaction among drivers. Now, this issue has been legally resolved.
