Production of Chevrolet Tahoe and Damas Starts in Kyrgyzstan

A significant milestone has been reached in Kyrgyzstan's automotive industry. According to Zamin.uz, the Tulpar Motors plant has officially commenced production of the Chevrolet Tahoe, one of the brand's most prestigious SUV models, and the Damas, a vehicle designed for small businesses.
The Tahoe, featuring an eight-cylinder 6.2-liter engine with 420 horsepower, has become the sixth model assembled at the facility. Notably, in less than two years of operation, the plant has successfully mastered the production of popular models such as the Cobalt, Onix, Tracker, and Captiva, as reported by local media.
The Tulpar Motors plant has opened a new chapter in the neighboring republic's economy. Last year, the company released 1,680 vehicles for sale.
Market demand analysis identified the Chevrolet Cobalt as the top-selling car and the Chevrolet Tracker as the most popular crossover. Future plans aim to increase production volume to 5 billion soms by the end of 2025, with a target of assembling at least 3,000 vehicles this year.
Company management emphasized that the plant was built from scratch, with fully established logistics systems and maintenance services. By 2026, ten sales outlets and regional technical service centers are planned to open across the country.
Additionally, favorable financial opportunities are being created for the population. Specifically, car loans are offered to citizens at an annual rate of 8%, while civil servants can access preferential rates of 4%.
Official U.S. representatives in Kyrgyzstan noted that this partnership will strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
In the near future, Tulpar Motors intends to further expand its product range. Alongside large models like the Suburban and Traverse, the production of eco-friendly Captiva PHEV hybrid vehicles is expected to be launched, providing a boost to the regional automotive market's development.
