A new procedure for international freight and passenger transport has been established in Uzbekistan

In accordance with a new resolution adopted by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a new system has been introduced in our country for regulating the sphere of international freight and passenger transport. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
By the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 25 March of the current year, a regulation on the procedure for issuing, exchanging and using permits for carrying out international road transport has been approved. This document establishes uniform and transparent rules for local and foreign carriers operating in the field.
According to the new procedure, the permits issued for international transport are divided into several types. These include such special permits as bilateral freight transport, transit passage, as well as freight transport to or from the territory of a third state.
In addition, with the aim of creating convenience for carriers, universal permits have been introduced, providing the possibility to carry out several types of freight transport practices simultaneously. Each permit must clearly indicate the type of transport and the strict conditions of its use.
In the direction of passenger transport, a clear classification system has also been put in place. From now on, non-regular passenger transport practices will be carried out on the basis of separate permits for bilateral and transit trips.
At the same time, the organization of regular international passenger services is carried out only within the framework of interstate signed agreements. This process is coordinated and controlled in full by authorized state bodies.
The implementation of this new regulation will serve to increase the international logistics attractiveness of our country. The legal strengthening of the process of distributing and using permits forms healthy competition among carriers.
This, in turn, makes it possible to strengthen discipline in the sphere of international road transport, improve the quality of service and take international cooperation to a new stage. These changes are expected to create additional opportunities for industry representatives.
